KS4

The Studio’s KS4 curriculum enables students to study core GCSE subjects of English Language, English literature, maths and combined sciences. Students then opt to follow a specialist pathway of option subjects in the following specialist areas

Creative Sector pathway

GCSE Graphic Design, GCSE Photography & BTEC Level 2 TV & Film Production.

Digital Sector pathway

GCSE Computing, BTEC Level 2 Digital Technologies & BTEC Level 2 Game Design.

Care Sector pathway

GCSE Citizenship, BTEC Leve 2 Health & Social Care & BTEC Leve 2 Child Development.

The above subjects are further supported with weekly timetabled reading and physical education studies.

The curriculum is designed to provide breadth & depth in the specialist areas that build upon a strong foundation of core studies. The combination of specialist subject qualifications gives students a level of skill to a greater depth than can be experienced in a traditional option choice setting. This suite of qualifications enables students to progress through to our own specialist 6^th form studies or other areas of Level 3 study.

Virtual aldridge

We're really proud of our Virtual Aldridge programme, which is an online English and maths GCSE tutoring service.

The main aim of the programme is to provide students with the necessary tools to achieve the best possible grades in their GCSEs, and it's especially useful to those students who may need some extra support to reach their potential.

The programme is available across all of our Aldridge schools to students in Years 7 to 11.

At Virtual Aldridge:

Students will receive weekly one-hour tutoring sessions in English and/or maths throughout the academic year.
Sessions are delivered virtually to small groups of three students.
Sessions take place outside of the school day, in the evenings and at weekends.
Sessions are taught by expert subject specialist Virtual Aldridge tutors who receive high quality training and development, including in safeguarding.
Tutors and schools communicate frequently about the learning progress of each student.
There is a dedicated email address for students and their parents/carers to communicate with the Virtual Aldridge team.
All Virtual Aldridge online tutoring sessions are FREE to students.

The support provided worth over £500 per student, and tutoring in small groups is one of the best ways to support our students to close any learning gaps they might have.
