Ofsted Recognises DAES’ strengths
We are proud to share the outcome of Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio’s recent Ofsted inspection, which recognises the school as dedicated to creating a “positive future for every pupil.”
The inspection looks at seven areas of school life: inclusion; achievement; attendance and behaviour; curriculum and teaching; leadership and governance; personal development and wellbeing; and post-16 provision.
We are delighted that six areas have been judged as meeting the expected standard - a “high standard, to make sure your children are receiving everything they need and deserve.” The seventh area, inclusion, was recognised as particularly effective, being judged as strong, which Ofsted defines as “making a real, positive difference for children and young people.” You will see on our report card that every area is green!
Inclusion sits at the heart of everything DAES stands for, so it is great news that this has been recognised as a key strength, with the report highlighting that every learner is known as an individual and supported to overcome barriers to learning - reflecting our Aldridge commitment to leaving no one behind.
The report also praises our career-focused curriculum, strong pastoral care and enrichment opportunities, and notes that nearly all our learners progress successfully into education, employment or training.
Inspectors also recognised the views of our families, adding that “parents speak highly of the care and support their children receive.”
We are really proud of this recognition and remain committed to continuous improvement to ensure every learner can achieve their full potential.
