Attendance
Attendance at Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio
Good attendance is essential for student progress, achievement and wellbeing.
At Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, we expect students to attend every day and arrive on time, as outlined in our Attendance Policy. Regular attendance helps students engage fully with their learning, build strong routines and develop key employability skills such as reliability and responsibility.
Poor attendance negatively affects academic outcomes and future opportunities.
Attendance Codes Explained
- I – Illness: Used when a student is absent due to illness. Parents/carers should inform the Studio as soon as possible. Medical evidence may be requested for frequent illness.
- O – Unauthorised Absence: Used when no valid reason has been provided for absence. This may be monitored and followed up in line with the Attendance Policy.
- G – Unauthorised Holiday: Used when a holiday is taken during term time without authorisation. Holidays during term time are not permitted except in exceptional circumstances.U – Late After Registers Close: Used when a student arrives after the register has closed. This counts as an unauthorised absence for that session. For DAES, this is after 9.10am for the morning session.
We work closely with students and families to support good attendance and address any barriers early, in line with our commitment to high expectations and student success. If you wish to speak to anyone in The Studio please contact your child's year leader.
